Manage SPAM - Help

How does it work?

The SPAM filter scans and determines the level of each email coming in to the MegaGate email servers. Each message is scanned by two seperate virus engines before delivery, and is then passed to the attachment scanner. Through each of these methods are the messages quarantined, deleted, or delivered to your mailbox.

Where can I check my SPAM quarantine?

Please login to the SPAM portal. Once logged in there are several options you can change for approved/blocked senders, spam settings, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Example 2: sally456@mycompany.com

Note: If you change your email password, your SPAM portal password is updated automatically.

Q: How can I add addresses to my approved/blocked senders list?

Q: How can I adjust my SPAM settings?
A: Login to the SPAM portal, and click "My Settings" (towards the top right of the page). Next click "Mange Junk Filters", and then adjust each category to your specified level.

Q: Why does legitimate mail sometimes get captured in the SPAM filter?
A: There are several reason why legitimate mail can be caught:
  1. No subject
  2. The message was too brief
  3. Typo's - This is a common SPAM tactic
  4. Too many recipients
  5. An attachment was not allowed
  6. The sender is on your blocked list

The SPAM filter is constantly updated to combat new SPAM tactics. Sometimes in these changes, the filter heuristics are also changing to learn about new SPAM and legitimate mail. The bottom line is that no SPAM filter is perfect, and having some legitimate messages blocked and some SPAM messages delivered is expected of all filtration systems.
